Transforming Talents at Atento: A Winning Strategy in Human Development

At ALOIC, we celebrate organizations that define the future of BPO with innovation and excellence. It is an honor to present an interview with the head of Atento, recent winner in the "Best Human Development Strategy" category at the LATAM 2023 awards. Atento, a leader in Latin America, has made a significant difference in various sectors, from finance to public administration, thanks to its unique approach combining digital tools and data science. This interview highlights how their human development strategy has not only driven the company's growth but also the well-being and advancement of its collaborators.

Could you share with us the basis of the Human Development strategy presented in this case of success?

Our strategy focused on developing cross-functional skills tailored to each individual's profile. This involved enhancing extroversion in introverted individuals and vice versa, as well as making leaders and managers more versatile to achieve greater effectiveness in various situations.

What impact has this strategy had on the collaborator's experience and the well-being of your organization?

This strategy transformed an initial project of 90 people into one of 500, which was acclaimed for personal growth, competitiveness, and the development of our team's skills.

In your opinion, what are the most significant challenges in the industry related to human development, talent management, and the collaborator's experience?

The biggest challenge is achieving real inclusion and versatility, not just in physical terms or personal preferences, but also in skills, potentialities, and knowledge. The ideal approach is to develop personalized strategies for each individual rather than grouping them by homogeneous profiles.

If you could give advice to organizations that want to improve the development of their talents and internal well-being, what would it be?

My advice would be to pause and look back to understand how each of us and the industry itself started. Remembering that no one was born knowing and that it was time and people who helped us to overcome challenges. This should become actions for everyone, seeking to surpass ourselves daily.

Winning in the "Best Human Development Strategy" category at ALOIC, what does it mean for your organization?

It is a recognition for the entire company: analysts, managers, advisors, trainers, support areas, and everyone who dedicates extra effort to learn and improve. It is an incentive to continue on this path and challenge ourselves to achieve even more.

What do you consider to be the value and benefit of participating in such events?

Participating in these events allows us to assess and value the contribution of each one towards a common good, reflecting a positive impact both on the business and on the people.
